Brown-Headed Nuthatched

These birds are found in the south-east part of the United States, and will live in birdhouses.  The interior dimensions of a birdhouse can be anywhere from a 4" x 4" floor to 6" x 6" floor and 8" to 12" high or can be higher if it has a peak roof.  The  entrance hole should be 1" to 1.25"  Preferably an 1" entry hole for the brown-headed nuthatch, since it is a smaller bird.  You can also use bluebird houses for a brown-headed nuthatch if you are able to find a 1' guard protector or able to make one of your own to reduce the entry hole size from 1.5" to 1"  Place the birdhouse anywhere from 5' to 10' even though they have been know to nest up to 90'  The direction of the entrance hole can be place in all directions.
